Chris Minor Boston Obituary: Massachusetts Beloved Firefighter, Engine 17 Passes Away

It is with deep sadness and profound respect that we announce the passing of Firefighter Christopher R. Minor, a dedicated member of Boston Fire Department, Engine 17 and a proud United States Marine Corps veteran. Chris passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Chris dedicated his life to service—both to his country as a Marine and to his community as a firefighter. He proudly served in the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines, and was a member of Task Force Tarawa during the initial invasion of Iraq. His courage, commitment, and unwavering dedication to duty defined him, and his legacy of selfless service will never be forgotten.

Beyond his profession, Chris was a beloved father, son, brother, and partner. He was the loving father of Victoria and Connor Minor and their mother, Kimberly Minor of Lynnfield. He was the cherished son of Patricia (Queeney) Donovan and the late Robert L. Minor, and the beloved life partner of Mary LaBelle of Newbury. He is survived by his brothers Kevin Minor, B.F.D. Engine 21 of Dorchester, and Sean Minor and his wife Michelle of Boise, ID. Chris was a dear uncle to Ryan and William Minor, a special nephew to John and Agnes Donovan, and a loving stepson to Paul P. Donovan. He will also be deeply missed by his extended family, friends, and the firefighting brotherhood.
